Private Full-Day Tour | 10 Hours 

Should you wish to extend your stay or require transport the following day, your driver is available to stay overnight. An additional charge of $500 applies to cover overnight driver expenses. 

 
7:00am - Start  
Pick-up from your Wanaka accommodation 

8:30am - Breakfast in Omarama  
After a scenic 1.5-hour drive through Central Otago, stop for a leisurely breakfast with your choice of coffee and one cabinet or menu item (allowance: $37 per person).  

(Please note that supplies in Mt Cook Village are very limited — this is your last opportunity to pick up anything you may need for the evening).  

9:45am - Omarama Clay Cliffs  
Explore this remarkable natural formation at your leisure — a good opportunity to stretch your legs and capture some unique photos (approx. 30 min) 

10:15am - Depart Omarama Clay Cliffs 
A stunning one-hour drive brings you to Peters Lookout 

11.15am - Arrive at Peters Lookout | Lake Pukaki  
Stop for a photo to capture the turquoise waters of Lake Pukaki (approx. 15 min stop) 

12:00pm - DOC Visitor Centre  
Arrive in Aoraki Mt Cook and spend time at the Department of Conservation Visitor Centre — a wonderful introduction to the history, geology, and natural environment of this remarkable region 

1:00pm - Lunch at The Hermitage | Alpine Restaurant  
Enjoy a buffet lunch at the iconic Hermitage Hotel with spectacular views of Aoraki Mt Cook on a clear day (dining from 1:00–2:00pm), followed by some free time to browse the Hermitage gift shop and visitor information area 

2:30pm - Accommodation Check-In  
Your driver will meet you at The Hermitage and assist with the short transfer to your accommodation for luggage drop-off and check-in 

3:00pm - Afternoon Walk/Hike 
Head out to explore the surrounding landscape on foot. Choose your preferred trail: 

• Governors Bush Loop — a gentle stroll through native bush (1.5km loop, approx. 1 hr, easy–moderate) 

• Red Tarns Track — a more rewarding challenge with panoramic alpine views (3.8km, approx. 1.5–2 hrs, moderate–hard) 

5:00pm - Finish 
Finish your walk and make the short return to your accommodation to unwind and enjoy your surroundings
